The Venice Living House project was one of the most challenging and rewarding projects I have undertaken. We were tasked with designing a living bridge on the Ponte Nicolo Pasqualigo in Venice. I envisioned and designed a studio house for an artist. This house, designed for Karsu, a successful Turkish artist, features an open plan layout.
Venice is a city renowned for its numerous bridges, Italian architecture, and the Grand Canal, which imbue the city with a unique charm. Although the canal's blue waters are captivating, I noticed a lack of green spaces in the city. The bridge, serving as a connector between two landmasses, inspired my design. My goal was to create a structure that not only served a functional purpose but also enhanced the city's aesthetic and environmental appeal.
